Ancillary Task - Making Of Newspaper Advert

Although Channel 4 had not got back to me yet, I decided to practice with the logo anyway and get ideas for the layout of my newspaper advert and how to make it work. Below are a few screenshots of the different processes and stages I went through to create some ideas and options for my ancillary task.

The above screenshot is my practice ideas, playing around with the space I had and how to make it more interesting for the consumer to look at . Particularly because this is an advert. I like the way I have put the quotes across the books and feel the background and layout can be associated with the newspaper article.

This is where I have decided to practice with the channel 4 logo although haven't yet had a reply. I had to take away the white background and add it to the photograph in photoshop. Although as you can see in the photo below I had to make more alterations because I felt that the logo looked weird on an angle. I think the logo works well with the advert - however I will have to wait for a reply to know whether I can definitely use it.

This is a screenshot that shows the 4 logo in adobe photoshop, the tool highlighted on the left is the background eraser tool, I wanted to clear the white so that it wasn't an obvious white square just simply placed on the page. This proved quite difficult and I had to try several ways to get it to sit on a clear background. However, I found that the only way it would work is if I sat it on a plain background as you can see below.

This is the type of advert and look that I would like to create for my newspaper advert - I am now just waiting for a reply from Channel 4 to find out whether or not I can use their logo. I think it will really suit the type of documentary that I am creating and I like the overall appearance that I have created so far. Now I just need to add other necessary text.
